Shakespeare’s Birthday
A Stratford Rotary delegation joined Town and international groups in the William Shakespeare Birthday parade. The procession started by the Swan Fountain. The Club President unfurled the Rotary flag at the top of Bridge Street. From there the procession continued to Holy Trinity Church where flowers were laid at William Shakespeare’s grave. A most enjoyable event to have been involved in.
Defibrillator provided in Henley Street, Stratford upon Avon
The defibrillator part sponsored by the Rotary Club was officially un-veiled by the Mayor of Stratford upon Avon Kevin Taylor and Charles Bates the husband of Tessa Bates in whose memory the unit was provided.
Stratford upon Avon Rotary Club Community Fund
The Rotary Club is pleased to launch the Community Fund, a sum of £250-00 will be awarded each month to a voluntary group, individual or organisation based within the town of Stratford upon Avon.
The End Polio Now sign has been erected
Paul Tomlinson, Sam Wheeler and Dudley Simpson erected the sign next to the grass area between the Crowne Plaza and Cox’s Yard where 4000 bulbs were planted last year.
Continued Support for Education is Essential
With the continued focus on our children’s education, the Rotary Club of Stratford upon Avon have been discussing needs in Primary Schools, and Gilly Rushton, Chair of the Clubs Youth Opportunities Team, has been contacting schools in the Stratford area to offer support.
Supporting Aqua Box, A Gift for Life this Christmas
The Aquabox campaign: #cleanwaterforchristmas has started! Working with the Beirut Cedars Rotary Club, a consignment of water filters will leave the Wirksworth depot to be air freighted direct to Beirut for distribution by Rotarians on the ground.
