Stratford upon Avon Rotary Club Community Fund

The Rotary Club is pleased to launch the Community Fund, a sum of £250-00 will be awarded each month to a voluntary group, individual or organisation based within the town of Stratford upon Avon.

The aim of the fund is to improve or provide a service or facility which will help to make the long term lives of an individual or others within the community easier and more fulfilled.

Recipients so far:-

Safe bed donation as described in detail in the news section

Welcome Hills School donation for a driver to be trained for the school minibus.

Donation to VASA for help in arranging a lunch to provide a dementia cafe meeting with all the interested parties in Stratford

Donation to the appeal from Waitrose for a defibrillator to be located at the store for visitors to the local shops, the Rosebird Centre and Costa Coffee.

Provision of a junior size table tennis unit for the young people of Stratford to learn how to play table tennis, based at St Gregory’s School, in co operation with the former Mayor Kevin Taylor.

Donation to the Team taking a refurbished Ambulance to Ukraine led by Councillor Gill Cleeve.

Donation to Warwickshire Vision for the provision of aids to make life easier for people with impaired sight.

Refurbishment of the Crowns on the flagpoles in Bridge Street for the Queens Platinum Jubilee Celebrations

Stratford Phab Club, to assist with the costs of a River Cruise for disabled residents.

Talking Newspaper, to purchase new memory sticks for distribution of an audio version of the Stratford Herald for residents of Stratford who find difficulty reading it.

Springfield Mind changing to ‘South Warwickshire and Worcestershire Mind’ to give a more local focus now based at the Fred Winter Centre

Street Arts Project for the provision of hot food to the homeless by using vouchers for redemption in local takeaway establishments


Applications will be accepted via the Rotary Club website; www.stratforduponavonrotary.co.uk/community-fund

A link within the website will need to be completed with details of the applicant and the full benefits to an the individual or the wider community which will occur on receipt of a grant from the fund.

The successful application will be selected by the Rotary Club members and will be announced in the Stratford Herald along with details of how the money will be used.
